Tactical DCS Hacked

On the evening (EU time) Tactical DCS' discord server owner got hacked by what looks to be a somewhat targeted attack.
Not session cookies or other easily obtainable credentials, but rather a more sophisticated compromise of the owner's own PC and phone with full desktop access.
This allowed the attacker to remove all admins from the server and take control of the community.
The server owner is currently working to regain control and secure their accounts and devices, but since Discord and Google (the owners email which also was compromised) generally don't provide instant support for these types of incidents, it may take some time before full recovery is achieved.

Tactical Paddles itself was not affected by this attack and remains fully operational.

Partnered Discord Server

Some fellow discord admins out there seemed to indicate that having a "partnered" server status might make the owner a more attractive target.

However, right now we have no idea what the true purpose of this attack was.
Sadly discord's "single point of failure" design means that if an owner's account is compromised, the entire server can be taken over, leaving the community vulnerable.

Recovery

While I hope we'll recover soon, however we're not entirely sure if it's at all possible.
Our digital home has just been hit and right now we are trying to figure out what to do...
We're having a hard time trying to wrap our heads around it, but we will do our best to recover and rebuild our community.
